Portrait of a Photographer: Dawn Chapman

Most people would have cancelled their plans when they awoke to torrential downpour on the morning they were supposed to walk around a park all day, but not Dawn Chapman and I.

What could have been a blissful sunny afternoon of skipping through fields and laying in the grass, was, instead, a very wet and windy and day spent huddled under broken umbrellas and falling down muddy hills, all whilst trying to protect our sacred cameras (make that 3 cameras for Dawn!) from the slightest drops of rain.

We both wanted to take some time out to just be creative and get back in touch with why we love photography. A fun and unpressured afternoon of taking each other's portrait, it was energising to be with someone of the same mindset - especially as she's just as good in front of the camera as she is behind it!

I hope you'll enjoy these gloomy photographs of our rainy adventure, and don't forget to check out Dawn's stunning work too!
